You may never have noticed the download button at the top of the web page.  You may have noticed it but not known what it was.  Well, quite simply, it is an application that allows us to share files with everyone.  If you don't see the button, it's because you need to login first.  Once you see it, click on it to see the different categories that are available.  Right now we have:

•  Den Leader Campfire - this section is broken down by rank: Bobcat, Tiger, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos.  This is a place for Den leaders to post any work sheets or forms that they use for their achievements.  Right now, we have something under the Tiger rank to help Den leaders guide their Tigers in earning their Totem.  We have a spreadsheet saved under the Bear section that can be used to track religious activities for a week for Achievment 1 of the Bear rank.  These are just two examples.  Den leaders should be encouraged to upload any and all documents that they have they have found useful so that other leaders can use them as well.

• Pack 182 Gazette - archive for the Pack 182 Gazette.

• Permission Forms - when permission forms are handed out for camping or other events, they will also be uploaded here so that parents can have access to them at any time.  We should no longer be tied to having to pick up forms at den meetings or pack nights.

• Miscellaneous - random documents.  If you don't know where to put something, put it here.

Anyone can upload a document and it's simple.  Once you've clicked on the "Downloads" button on the top menu, you will see an icon labeled "Submit File".  Click on it and follow the simple directions.  If you have any problems with it, feel free to contact me and I will be glad to help you out ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ).  Since this is new, there might be some configuration changes I need to make to smooth things out as we go along.

I would like to come up with a new name for the Downloads page.  We're aiming for scouting themes (as you can see with the "Den Leader Campfire" section - Melissa G. came up with the name), so if you have a suggestion, shoot it to me.  Also, if you want to see some other categories available in the downloads, send those to me as well.  One thought I had was to create a section for trail maps.  That way, if you ever want to go for a hike, all you need to do is download a trail map and go!  Good idea, huh?
